What an unusual Tuesday morning. An unusual turn of events left me and Mark home, but no one else, on a weekday morning! So we went up Big Cottonwood Canyon and hiked from Silver Lake up to Twin Lakes and then past Lake Mary and back to where we started! We had no camera, not even a phone, to take a picture. It was a great hike and we'll be back so we'll get a picture then.

Kannaraville Falls; Friday, June 17, 2016
The hikers. I was the one taking the picture.
We have done this hike before. It was nearly 2 years ago, when Marisa got home from Argentina. It's an awesome hike and we hope it will make up for last weeks misery so Devynne will hike with us again!
Looking straight up!
First Falls.
This was such a fun hike! About 4 miles and 700 feet elevation gain. Then we stopped in Cedar City for ice cream before heading home.
Wellsville Mountains, June 11, 2016
We started our hike on a beautiful summer day in the Wellsville Mountains.
We started at the Rattlesnake trailhead between Sherwood Hills and Wellsville.
The end of the trail was in Mendon.
The hikers, plus me, I am on the other side of the camera.
There were a lot of ferns and beautiful wildflowers. The trail got very steep after this.
About 3.5 miles into the hike and before the top Jacob and I turned around. The weather turned also and before we reached the van we were hiking in the rain. The rest of the hikers ended up in a terrific storm, but thankfully there was no lightening. We met them at the end of the trail in Mendon. There is no picture of the cold and wet hikers that made it all 12 miles.
Jacob found a place to hammock even though it was too wet to hang it in the trees. You can see the rain out the windows. It was like that the entire time. We couldn't see the top of the mountain. I don't think we could even see the mountain.
